Unit Mission
The Threat Profiling & Behavioural Risk Analytics Team develops detailed profiles of individuals and groups who pose a credible threat to protected persons, facilities, or operations. The team applies behavioural science, threat assessment methodologies, and structured professional judgement to evaluate the likelihood and imminence of targeted violence — providing the analytical foundation for protective decisions, intervention strategies, and case management of concerning individuals.
Key Functions
Threat Profiling
Developing comprehensive profiles of individuals and groups who pose a credible threat — drawing on behavioural history, communications, social media activity, and intelligence to build a detailed picture of capability, intent, and likely attack pathway.
Risk Assessment
Applying structured professional judgement tools and targeted violence risk assessment methodologies to evaluate the likelihood and imminence of attack — producing risk ratings that inform protective decisions and intervention strategies.
Case Management
Advising on the ongoing management of concerning individuals — including monitoring protocols, intervention strategies, and the legal and ethical frameworks that govern protective action against identified threat actors.
