Unit Mission
The Natural Disaster & Humanitarian Emergency Tactical Team provides tactical advisory support for the planning and execution of responses to natural disasters and complex humanitarian emergencies. The team advises on the coordination of humanitarian response operations, the management of logistics and supply chains in disaster environments, and the integration of security considerations into humanitarian response — helping organisations deliver effective assistance while managing the risks inherent in disaster and conflict-affected environments.
Key Functions
Response Coordination
Advising on the coordination of humanitarian response operations — including the establishment of coordination mechanisms, the allocation of responsibilities across responding organisations, and the management of information flows.
Logistics Advisory
Advising on the management of logistics and supply chains in disaster environments — including the prioritisation of supplies, the management of distribution networks, and the mitigation of logistics disruptions caused by infrastructure damage.
Security Integration
Advising on the integration of security considerations into humanitarian response — helping organisations manage the risks of operating in conflict-affected or politically sensitive environments while maintaining humanitarian principles.
