Cyber-Physical Security Integration Advisory Unit
Bridging the gap between cyber and physical security to protect systems where digital and physical domains converge.
Unit Mission
The Cyber-Physical Security Integration Advisory Unit advises on the security of systems where cyber and physical domains converge — including industrial control systems, operational technology, smart buildings, and critical infrastructure. The unit assesses the cyber-physical attack surface, advises on the integration of cyber and physical security programmes, and develops the frameworks needed to manage risks that span both domains — ensuring that organisations do not have blind spots at the intersection of their cyber and physical security programmes.
Key Functions
Attack Surface Assessment
Assessing the cyber-physical attack surface — identifying the points where cyber vulnerabilities could enable physical harm, and where physical access could enable cyber compromise — to build a comprehensive picture of convergence risks.
Programme Integration
Advising on the integration of cyber and physical security programmes — developing the governance structures, processes, and communication channels that ensure coherent management of risks that span both domains.
Incident Response
Advising on the response to cyber-physical incidents — helping organisations manage incidents where cyber attacks have physical consequences, or where physical security breaches enable cyber compromise, requiring coordinated response across both domains.
