Critical Systems Vulnerability & Penetration Advisory Team
Identifying and prioritising vulnerabilities in critical systems through expert assessment and adversarial testing.
Unit Mission
The Critical Systems Vulnerability & Penetration Advisory Team conducts vulnerability assessments and adversarial penetration testing of critical systems — including operational technology, industrial control systems, and mission-critical IT infrastructure — to identify exploitable weaknesses before adversaries do. The team advises on remediation priorities, develops vulnerability management programmes, and provides the technical expertise needed to understand and address the most significant cyber risks facing critical systems.
Key Functions
Vulnerability Assessment
Conducting systematic vulnerability assessments of critical systems — identifying exploitable weaknesses in software, hardware, configuration, and architecture that could be leveraged by adversaries to compromise system integrity or availability.
Adversarial Testing
Advising on and supporting penetration testing and red team exercises that simulate realistic adversary attacks — validating the effectiveness of defences and identifying vulnerabilities that are not apparent from passive assessment.
Remediation Advisory
Advising on the prioritisation and implementation of vulnerability remediation — helping organisations focus limited resources on the vulnerabilities that pose the greatest risk and develop sustainable vulnerability management programmes.
