Unit Mission
The Crisis Response Advisory & Incident Command Support Unit provides expert advisory support to organisations managing active crises — advising on incident command structures, crisis management processes, and decision-making frameworks that enable effective response under pressure. The unit embeds advisors in crisis management teams, supports the establishment of incident command posts, and provides the structured analytical and planning support needed to maintain situational awareness, coordinate response, and drive toward resolution.
Key Functions
Incident Command Advisory
Advising on the establishment and operation of incident command structures — ensuring clear command relationships, defined roles and responsibilities, and effective information management during active crises.
Crisis Management Support
Providing embedded advisory support to crisis management teams — helping maintain situational awareness, facilitating decision-making processes, and ensuring that response actions are coordinated and prioritised effectively.
Multi-Agency Coordination
Advising on the coordination of multi-agency crisis response — developing the frameworks, communication protocols, and de-confliction mechanisms needed to ensure coherent response across multiple organisations.
