Counter-Narrative & Anti-Disinformation Task Force
Developing and deploying counter-narratives that challenge disinformation and protect the integrity of the information environment.
Unit Mission
The Counter-Narrative & Anti-Disinformation Task Force develops and deploys counter-narratives that challenge disinformation, propaganda, and false narratives that threaten Pacific 7.0 International's mission or the communities it serves. The task force analyses the structure and appeal of harmful narratives, develops evidence-based counter-narratives that address the underlying concerns and motivations of target audiences, and advises on the deployment strategies most likely to achieve lasting narrative change.
Key Functions
Narrative Analysis
Analysing harmful narratives and disinformation campaigns to understand their structure, appeal, and target audiences — identifying the core claims, emotional drivers, and distribution mechanisms that make them effective.
Counter-Narrative Development
Developing evidence-based counter-narratives that address the underlying concerns and motivations of target audiences — crafting messages that are credible, emotionally resonant, and capable of shifting attitudes and behaviours.
Deployment Strategy
Advising on the deployment of counter-narratives — identifying the most effective channels, messengers, and timing to reach target audiences, and developing prebunking strategies that build resilience against disinformation before it spreads.
