Unit Mission

The Women's Support & Empowerment Economic Unit advances women's empowerment and economic independence — developing the support services, economic empowerment programs, and advocacy initiatives needed to address the unique challenges facing women and build their capacity for full participation in economic and civic life. The unit applies women's empowerment, gender equity, and economic development to develop the comprehensive approaches needed to address gender-based barriers, support survivors of violence, and build women's economic independence.

Women's Support

Delivering women's support services — providing the counseling, legal advocacy, and practical assistance needed to support women facing domestic violence, discrimination, and other gender-based challenges.

Economic Empowerment

Building women's economic empowerment — developing the job training, microenterprise support, and financial literacy programs that build women's economic independence and reduce gender-based economic inequality.

Leadership Development

Advancing women's leadership — developing the mentorship, training, and networking programs that build women's leadership capacity and increase their representation in community, civic, and economic leadership.
