Unit Mission

The Veterans & Military Families Support Unit supports veterans and military families — developing the comprehensive services, peer support programs, and advocacy initiatives needed to address the unique challenges facing veterans and military families and ensure they receive the support they have earned through their service. The unit applies veteran services, military family support, and trauma-informed care to develop the approaches needed to address the mental health, employment, housing, and family challenges that veterans and military families face.

Developing veteran support services — creating the mental health support, employment assistance, and practical services that address the unique challenges veterans face in transitioning to civilian life.

Family Support

Supporting military families — developing the programs and services that address the unique stresses facing military families, including deployment support, financial assistance, and family counseling.

Benefits Navigation

Providing benefits navigation — helping veterans and military families understand and access the benefits they have earned, removing bureaucratic barriers to the support they deserve.
