Unit Mission

The Humanitarian Relief & International Aid Local Unit delivers grassroots humanitarian relief and coordinates international aid at the local community level — providing the direct assistance, community coordination, and local partnership development needed to ensure that international humanitarian aid reaches and effectively serves affected communities. The unit applies humanitarian response, community engagement, and local partnership to develop the grassroots approaches that make international aid more effective, accountable, and responsive to community needs.

Key Functions

Direct Relief

Delivering direct humanitarian relief — providing food, water, shelter, and essential supplies to community members affected by disasters, conflicts, and humanitarian emergencies.

Aid Coordination

Coordinating international aid at the local level — working with international organizations and NGOs to ensure that aid is effectively targeted, efficiently delivered, and accountable to affected communities.

Community Accountability

Building community accountability systems — developing the feedback mechanisms and community monitoring systems that ensure humanitarian aid is responsive to community needs and priorities.
