Unit Mission
The Food, Hunger & Nutrition Supply Chain Unit addresses food insecurity and hunger — developing the food distribution systems, nutrition programs, and supply chain coordination needed to ensure that all community members have access to adequate, nutritious food. The unit applies food security, nutrition science, and supply chain management to develop the comprehensive approaches needed to address both immediate food needs and the structural causes of food insecurity.

Food Distribution
Managing food distribution programs — coordinating food banks, pantries, and meal programs that provide immediate food assistance to community members experiencing food insecurity.
Nutrition Programs
Developing community nutrition programs — creating the nutrition education, healthy food access, and cooking skills programs that improve dietary quality and address nutrition-related health issues.
Supply Chain Coordination
Optimizing food supply chains — coordinating food donations, distribution logistics, and community partnerships to maximize the efficiency and reach of community food assistance programs.
