Unit Mission
The Community Mediation & Conflict Resolution Unit resolves community conflicts through mediation and restorative practices — providing mediation services, conflict resolution training, and restorative justice programs that address neighborhood disputes, interpersonal conflicts, and community tensions before they escalate to violence. The unit applies mediation methodology, restorative justice, and community peacebuilding to develop the accessible conflict resolution resources that help communities manage conflict constructively and build the peaceful relationships needed for resilient neighborhoods.

Mediation Services
Providing community mediation services — offering accessible, neutral mediation for neighborhood disputes, interpersonal conflicts, and community tensions, helping parties reach mutually acceptable resolutions.
Conflict Resolution Training
Training community conflict resolvers — developing the skills of community members, organizational staff, and local leaders in conflict resolution and mediation, building community capacity for constructive conflict management.
Restorative Practices
Implementing restorative practices — developing the restorative circles, community conferences, and dialogue processes that repair relationships, address harm, and build the community connections needed for peaceful neighborhoods.
