Community Disaster Preparedness & Prototype Testing Unit

Developing and testing community disaster preparedness prototypes that improve neighborhood resilience.

Unit Mission

The Community Disaster Preparedness & Prototype Testing Unit develops and tests community disaster preparedness prototypes — designing, piloting, and evaluating innovative preparedness approaches, community resilience tools, and neighborhood safety systems that improve community capacity to withstand and recover from disasters. The unit applies community resilience, design thinking, and program evaluation to develop the evidence-based preparedness approaches that can be scaled to build resilience across diverse communities.
