Community Development & Poverty Alleviation Unit

Building community capacity and reducing poverty through grassroots development and economic empowerment.

Unit Mission

The Community Development & Poverty Alleviation Unit builds community capacity and reduces poverty — developing the community-led programs, economic empowerment initiatives, and capacity-building support needed to address the root causes of poverty and build thriving, self-sufficient communities. The unit applies community development, poverty reduction, and asset-based approaches to develop the strategies that build on community strengths, address structural barriers, and create the conditions for sustainable poverty reduction.
