Unit Mission
The Animal Welfare & Wildlife Protection Community Unit advances animal welfare and wildlife protection — developing the community education programs, advocacy initiatives, and direct care services needed to protect domestic animals from cruelty and neglect and advance the conservation of wildlife. The unit applies animal welfare science, wildlife conservation, and community organizing to develop the grassroots approaches that build community commitment to animal welfare and wildlife protection.

Animal Welfare
Advancing animal welfare — developing the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption programs that protect domestic animals from cruelty and neglect, and advocating for the legal protections that prevent animal abuse.
Wildlife Protection
Protecting wildlife — advocating for wildlife habitat protection, developing community education programs that build appreciation for wildlife, and supporting the conservation initiatives that protect endangered species.
Community Education
Building community commitment to animal welfare — developing the humane education programs and community awareness campaigns that build empathy for animals and commitment to their protection.
