Unit Mission
The Post-Conflict Demining & UXO Clearance Team clears landmines and unexploded ordnance from post-conflict communities — restoring safe land access, enabling agricultural recovery, and protecting civilians from the ongoing threat of explosive remnants. The team applies mine clearance techniques, explosive ordnance disposal, and mine action management to survey contaminated areas, clear mines and UXO, and certify land as safe for civilian use, working within the International Mine Action Standards framework.
Key Functions
Survey Operations
Conducting non-technical and technical surveys of mine-contaminated areas — mapping hazardous areas, assessing contamination levels, and prioritizing clearance tasks based on humanitarian impact and community needs.
Clearance Operations
Executing mine and UXO clearance operations — deploying manual deminers, mechanical assets, and mine detection dogs to systematically clear contaminated land and release it for safe civilian use.
Mine Risk Education
Delivering mine risk education to affected communities — training community members to recognize and avoid mines and UXO, reducing casualties among populations living in or returning to contaminated areas.
