Unit Mission
The Law Enforcement Use-of-Force & Biomechanical Analytics Advisory analyzes law enforcement use-of-force incidents through biomechanical science, forensic analysis, and human rights law — providing the technical expertise needed to assess whether force was lawful, necessary, and proportionate. The unit applies biomechanics, forensic medicine, and use-of-force law to reconstruct incidents, analyze injury patterns, and produce the expert analysis needed for accountability proceedings and police reform.

Analyzing law enforcement use-of-force incidents — reconstructing events through biomechanical analysis, forensic evidence, and witness testimony to establish the facts and assess compliance with use-of-force standards.
Biomechanical Assessment
Applying biomechanical science to use-of-force analysis — analyzing injury patterns, force application mechanics, and physical evidence to determine whether force used was consistent with lawful use-of-force standards.
