Unit Mission

The Fair Trial, Due Process & Legal Tech Team protects fair trial rights and advances due process — monitoring judicial proceedings, documenting violations of fair trial standards, and deploying legal technology to improve access to justice. The team applies international fair trial standards, judicial monitoring, and legal technology to identify due process violations, support defendants whose rights are violated, and advocate for the judicial reforms needed to ensure that everyone can access a fair trial.

Trial Monitoring

Monitoring judicial proceedings for fair trial violations — observing trials, documenting departures from fair trial standards, and reporting on judicial independence, access to counsel, and due process compliance.

Legal Technology

Deploying legal technology to improve access to justice — developing and implementing digital tools that help individuals understand their rights, access legal information, and navigate justice systems.

Reform Advocacy

Advocating for judicial reform — engaging with justice sector institutions, international bodies, and civil society to advance the reforms needed to ensure fair trials and effective access to justice for all.
