Diabetes & Metabolic Health Field Analytics Team
Addressing the diabetes epidemic through field analytics, community screening, and evidence-based metabolic health interventions.
Unit Mission
The Diabetes & Metabolic Health Field Analytics Team addresses the global diabetes epidemic through community-based screening, field analytics, and evidence-based metabolic health interventions — identifying undiagnosed diabetes and prediabetes, characterizing the social and environmental determinants of metabolic disease, and implementing prevention and management programs that reduce the burden of diabetes and its complications. The team applies endocrinology, community health, and health systems research to develop scalable approaches to diabetes prevention and management in resource-limited settings.
Key Functions
Screening Programs
Conducting community diabetes and prediabetes screening — identifying undiagnosed cases, assessing metabolic risk factors, and linking high-risk individuals to prevention and management programs before complications develop.
Prevention Interventions
Delivering evidence-based diabetes prevention programs — implementing lifestyle modification interventions that reduce diabetes incidence in high-risk populations through diet, physical activity, and behavioral change support.
Management Support
Supporting diabetes management in resource-limited settings — advising on insulin access, glucose monitoring, and complication prevention programs that reduce the burden of diabetic complications in underserved communities.
