Adolescent Health & Risk Prevention Analytics Unit
Addressing adolescent health risks through evidence-based prevention programs and youth-centered health services.
Unit Mission
The Adolescent Health & Risk Prevention Analytics Unit addresses the health risks facing adolescents in humanitarian and resource-limited settings — developing evidence-based prevention programs and youth-centered health services that address sexual and reproductive health, mental health, substance use, and violence. The unit applies adolescent medicine, behavioral health, and youth development to design interventions that are accessible, acceptable, and effective for young people navigating the compounded vulnerabilities of adolescence in crisis environments.
Key Functions
SRH Services
Delivering adolescent sexual and reproductive health services — providing contraception, STI prevention and treatment, and safe abortion care in youth-friendly formats that overcome the access barriers adolescents face in humanitarian settings.
Mental Health
Providing mental health and psychosocial support for adolescents — delivering age-appropriate psychological first aid, counseling, and peer support programs that address the mental health impacts of conflict, displacement, and trauma.
Risk Prevention
Implementing adolescent risk prevention programs — designing evidence-based interventions that reduce substance use, violence, and other risk behaviors among adolescents in humanitarian and resource-limited settings.
