Unit Mission

The Strategic Planning & Environmental Doctrine Team develops strategic plans and environmental doctrine — producing the strategic frameworks, doctrine documents, and planning guidance that define organizational direction, establish operational standards, and guide the development of capabilities needed to achieve strategic objectives. The team applies strategic planning methodology, doctrine development, and organizational design to produce the planning and doctrine products that align organizational effort and build the capabilities needed for mission success.

Key Functions

Strategic Planning

Developing strategic plans — producing the strategic frameworks and planning documents that define organizational direction, set strategic objectives, and guide the allocation of resources to achieve mission goals.

Doctrine Development

Developing operational doctrine — writing and reviewing the doctrine documents that establish operational standards, define concepts of operations, and guide the development of organizational capabilities.

Capability Development

Analyzing capability gaps and guiding development — identifying the gaps between current capabilities and those needed to achieve strategic objectives, and developing the plans needed to close those gaps.
