Unit Mission
The Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution & Peacekeeping Support Team advances peacebuilding and conflict resolution — developing the policy frameworks, capacity-building programs, and operational support needed to strengthen peacebuilding processes, improve conflict resolution mechanisms, and enhance peacekeeping effectiveness. The team applies peacebuilding theory, conflict resolution methodology, and peacekeeping doctrine to develop the integrated approaches needed to build sustainable peace in conflict-affected societies.
Key Functions
Peacebuilding Strategy
Developing peacebuilding strategies — designing the integrated political, social, and economic approaches needed to build sustainable peace in conflict-affected societies, addressing the root causes of conflict.
Conflict Resolution
Designing conflict resolution mechanisms — developing the mediation frameworks, dialogue processes, and institutional arrangements needed to resolve disputes peacefully and prevent conflict recurrence.
Peacekeeping Support
Supporting peacekeeping operations — providing the policy analysis, capacity-building support, and operational guidance needed to improve peacekeeping effectiveness and protect civilians in conflict zones.
