Unit Mission
The Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions Analytics Task Force advances peace, justice, and strong institutions — developing the analytical frameworks, policy assessments, and advocacy strategies needed to promote peaceful societies, ensure access to justice, and build the effective, accountable institutions needed for SDG 16 achievement. The task force applies governance analysis, justice policy, and SDG monitoring to develop the evidence base needed for effective peace and justice policy and institutional strengthening programs.
Key Functions
Peace Analytics
Analyzing peace and security conditions — developing the metrics and monitoring systems needed to track progress toward peaceful societies, identifying the drivers of violence and the interventions that reduce conflict.
Justice Assessment
Assessing justice system effectiveness — evaluating access to justice, rule of law, and judicial independence to identify gaps and develop recommendations for justice system strengthening.
SDG 16 Monitoring
Monitoring SDG 16 progress — tracking peace, justice, and governance indicators, assessing country performance, and producing the accountability reports needed to maintain political commitment to strong institutions.
