Unit Mission
The Partnerships for the Goals Coordination & Synergy Unit coordinates multi-stakeholder partnerships and synergies — developing the partnership frameworks, coordination mechanisms, and synergy strategies needed to mobilize the resources, expertise, and political will needed to accelerate SDG achievement. The unit applies partnership development, SDG monitoring, and multi-stakeholder engagement to build the coalitions and coordination systems needed to align diverse actors behind shared SDG objectives and maximize the impact of collective action.
Key Functions
Partnership Development
Developing multi-stakeholder partnerships — building the coalitions of governments, civil society, business, and international organizations needed to mobilize the resources and expertise required for SDG achievement.
Synergy Analysis
Analyzing SDG synergies — identifying the interlinkages between SDGs where progress on one goal accelerates progress on others, developing the integrated strategies that maximize the impact of SDG investment.
Coordination Systems
Building coordination systems — developing the mechanisms and platforms needed to align diverse actors behind shared SDG objectives, reduce duplication, and maximize the collective impact of SDG partnerships.
