Unit Mission
The Humanitarian Logistics & NGO Interaction Social Studies Unit researches humanitarian logistics and NGO coordination dynamics — conducting social science research on how humanitarian organizations coordinate, how logistics systems perform, and what organizational and social factors determine aid delivery effectiveness. The unit applies organizational sociology, humanitarian studies, and logistics research to produce the evidence needed to improve coordination mechanisms, reduce duplication, and enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian response systems.

Coordination Research
Researching humanitarian coordination dynamics — studying how NGOs, UN agencies, and governments coordinate in humanitarian responses, identifying the factors that enable or impede effective coordination.
Logistics Analysis
Analyzing humanitarian logistics performance — evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of humanitarian supply chains, identifying bottlenecks, and developing recommendations for logistics system improvement.
System Improvement
Developing humanitarian system improvements — translating research findings into practical recommendations for coordination mechanisms, logistics systems, and organizational practices that improve aid delivery effectiveness.
