Human Intelligence (HUMINT) & Source Operations Unit
Developing human intelligence sources and conducting HUMINT operations to collect intelligence unavailable through technical means.
Unit Mission
The Human Intelligence & Source Operations Unit develops human intelligence sources and conducts HUMINT operations — recruiting, developing, and managing human sources to collect the intelligence on adversary intentions, capabilities, and plans that technical collection cannot provide. The unit applies HUMINT tradecraft, source operations methodology, and counterintelligence to develop the human networks needed for effective intelligence collection in denied and denied-access environments.
