Unit Mission

The Cyberspace, Digital Policy & Tech-Diplomacy Task Force advances cyberspace governance and digital policy — engaging governments, international organizations, and technology companies to develop the norms, rules, and governance frameworks needed for a secure, open, and rights-respecting digital environment. The task force applies cyber diplomacy, digital policy, and technology governance to develop the international agreements and cooperative frameworks needed to address cybersecurity threats, digital rights, and the governance of emerging technologies.

Cyber Diplomacy

Conducting cyber diplomacy — engaging governments and international organizations to develop the norms, rules, and confidence-building measures needed to reduce cyber conflict and advance responsible state behavior in cyberspace.

Digital Governance

Advancing digital governance frameworks — developing the international agreements and governance architectures needed for a secure, open, and rights-respecting digital environment.

Rights Advocacy

Advocating for digital rights — engaging governments and technology companies to advance internet freedom, data protection, and the digital rights of individuals in the international governance of cyberspace.
