Unit Mission
The Critical Infrastructure Intelligence & Protection Team develops intelligence on threats to critical infrastructure — collecting and analyzing intelligence on adversary targeting of power grids, water systems, transportation networks, and other critical infrastructure to enable proactive protection and resilience. The team applies critical infrastructure analysis, threat intelligence, and vulnerability assessment to develop the intelligence products needed to protect the systems that underpin modern society.
Key Functions
Threat Analysis
Analyzing threats to critical infrastructure — assessing adversary capabilities and intentions to target power, water, transportation, and communications infrastructure to enable proactive protection.
Vulnerability Assessment
Assessing infrastructure vulnerabilities — identifying the weaknesses in critical infrastructure systems that adversaries could exploit, enabling targeted hardening and resilience investment.
Protection Advisory
Advising on infrastructure protection — providing the intelligence-driven recommendations needed to prioritize protection investments and develop the resilience measures that reduce infrastructure risk.
