Unit Mission
The Counterintelligence & Insider Threat Detection Unit detects and neutralizes foreign intelligence threats and insider threats — conducting counterintelligence investigations, developing insider threat detection programs, and implementing the security measures needed to protect organizations from espionage, sabotage, and unauthorized disclosure. The unit applies counterintelligence methodology, behavioral analysis, and security operations to identify and neutralize threats from foreign intelligence services and malicious insiders.
Key Functions
CI Investigation
Conducting counterintelligence investigations — investigating suspected espionage, foreign intelligence penetration, and insider threat activity to identify threats and develop the evidence needed for neutralization.
Insider Threat Detection
Detecting insider threats — developing and operating insider threat detection programs that identify behavioral indicators of malicious insider activity before damage occurs.
Threat Neutralization
Neutralizing intelligence threats — developing and implementing the operational and security measures needed to neutralize identified foreign intelligence and insider threats.
