Unit Mission

The Climate Action & Biodiversity Protection Strategic Team advances climate action and biodiversity protection — developing the strategic policy frameworks, advocacy strategies, and international engagement needed to accelerate climate action and halt biodiversity loss. The team applies climate policy, biodiversity conservation, and SDG monitoring to develop the integrated approaches needed to address the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, advancing SDGs 13 and 15.

Climate Strategy

Developing climate action strategies — designing the policy frameworks and advocacy strategies needed to accelerate emission reductions, advance climate adaptation, and achieve the Paris Agreement temperature goals.

Biodiversity Policy

Advancing biodiversity protection policy — developing the conservation strategies, protected area frameworks, and international agreements needed to halt biodiversity loss and achieve the Kunming-Montreal targets.

Nexus Analysis

Analyzing the climate-biodiversity nexus — developing the integrated approaches that address climate change and biodiversity loss together, leveraging nature-based solutions that advance both climate and biodiversity goals.
