Unit Mission

The Affordable & Clean Energy Economic Task Force advances affordable and clean energy access — developing the economic analysis, policy frameworks, and financing strategies needed to accelerate the transition to clean energy and achieve universal energy access. The task force applies energy economics, clean energy policy, and SDG monitoring to develop the evidence-based policies and investment strategies needed to provide affordable, reliable, and clean energy for all.

Developing energy access policy — designing the policy frameworks and investment strategies needed to achieve universal energy access, addressing the infrastructure, financing, and governance challenges in energy-poor regions.

Clean Energy Economics

Analyzing clean energy economics — developing the economic assessments and financing strategies needed to accelerate the transition to clean energy, making the economic case for renewable energy investment.

SDG 7 Monitoring

Monitoring SDG 7 progress — tracking energy access and clean energy indicators, assessing country performance, and producing the accountability reports needed to maintain political commitment to universal clean energy.
