Wildfire Response, Fire-Line Mitigation & Drone Task Force

Combating wildfire with integrated ground operations, fire-line mitigation, and drone-based intelligence.

Mission Statement

The Wildfire Response, Fire-Line Mitigation & Drone Task Force provides integrated wildfire response capability combining ground-based fire-line operations with drone-enabled aerial intelligence and precision ignition for controlled burns. The unit deploys to rapidly growing wildfire events to establish and hold containment lines, conduct structure protection operations, and provide real-time fire behavior intelligence to incident commanders through a persistent drone surveillance capability.

Key Functions

Fire-Line Operations

Constructing and holding containment lines on rapidly growing wildfire events, applying hand line, dozer line, and aerial retardant in coordinated sequences to establish and maintain containment.

Drone Intelligence

Operating a persistent drone surveillance capability over active wildfire events, providing incident commanders with real-time fire behavior data — perimeter mapping, spotting detection, and structure threat assessment.

Structure Protection

Deploying structure protection teams to defend threatened buildings using defensible space preparation, sprinkler systems, and direct flame suppression, prioritizing critical facilities and high-density residential areas.

Core Capabilities

Fire-line construction and holding
Structure protection operations
Drone-based fire behavior intelligence
Aerial ignition for prescribed burns
Evacuation support and coordination
Post-fire erosion and debris flow advisory
