Mission Statement
The Trauma Medicine, Hemorrhage Control & Tactical Combat Casualty Care unit provides advanced trauma medical capability for operations in hostile and austere environments where conventional emergency medical services cannot operate. The unit applies Tactical Combat Casualty Care principles and damage control resuscitation techniques to deliver life-saving hemorrhage control, airway management, and shock treatment under fire — and trains partner force medics in the TCCC protocols that save lives at the point of injury.
Key Functions
Tactical Trauma Care
Delivering life-saving trauma care under fire using TCCC protocols — hemorrhage control, airway management, tension pneumothorax treatment, and hypothermia prevention — in the care under fire and tactical field care phases.
Damage Control Resuscitation
Applying damage control resuscitation principles — balanced blood product transfusion, permissive hypotension, and early surgical intervention — to stabilize severely injured casualties for evacuation to definitive surgical care.
TCCC Training
Training partner force medics and combat personnel in TCCC protocols, building the organic trauma care capacity that saves lives at the point of injury before evacuation to higher-level medical facilities.
