Mission Statement
The Critical Infrastructure Perimeter Defense & Threat Assessment Task Force conducts comprehensive threat assessments of critical infrastructure facilities — power plants, water treatment facilities, communications hubs, and transportation nodes — and designs perimeter defense systems to protect them against physical attack, sabotage, and hybrid threats. The unit integrates physical security engineering with cyber-physical threat analysis to address the full spectrum of infrastructure vulnerabilities.
Key Functions
Threat Assessment
Conducting systematic threat and vulnerability assessments of critical infrastructure facilities, identifying physical, cyber-physical, and insider threat vectors that could enable sabotage or attack.
Perimeter Engineering
Designing layered perimeter defense systems — barriers, sensors, surveillance, access control — that deter, detect, and delay hostile actors while maintaining operational efficiency.
Hybrid Threat Integration
Addressing the intersection of physical and cyber threats to critical infrastructure, ensuring that perimeter defense systems are resilient against coordinated hybrid attacks that combine physical intrusion with cyber disruption.
