LGBTQ+ Rights & Systemic Persecution Defense Unit
Defending LGBTQ+ individuals from systemic persecution and advancing legal protections worldwide.
Mission Statement
The LGBTQ+ Rights & Systemic Persecution Defense Unit defends LGBTQ+ individuals and communities from state-sponsored and societal persecution — documenting rights violations, providing emergency protection support, and advancing legal reforms that decriminalize same-sex relationships and protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination and violence. The unit works in the most hostile environments to provide life-saving support to individuals facing persecution on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
