Mission Statement

The Heavy Ordnance Recovery & Disarmament Task Force specializes in the recovery, safe handling, and destruction of heavy weapons — including artillery, anti-tank systems, man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), and unexploded ordnance — that have proliferated into civilian environments and criminal hands. The unit coordinates post-conflict disarmament programs and supports international weapons destruction initiatives.

Key Functions

Heavy Weapons Recovery

Conducting field operations to locate, secure, and recover heavy weapons from post-conflict environments, criminal caches, and illicit markets before they can be deployed against civilian populations.

MANPADS Neutralization

Specializing in the recovery and destruction of man-portable air defense systems, which pose catastrophic risks to civilian aviation when in criminal or terrorist hands.

Post-Conflict Disarmament

Designing and implementing comprehensive disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) programs in post-conflict settings to reduce the long-term threat of heavy weapons proliferation.
