Mission Statement

The Cross-Border Tunnel Detection & Seismic Mapping Task Force deploys ground-penetrating radar, seismic sensors, and aerial survey technologies to detect clandestine tunnels used for smuggling narcotics, weapons, and human trafficking victims across international borders. The unit maps subsurface tunnel networks, coordinates interdiction operations, and advises on physical countermeasures to prevent tunnel construction.

Operating distributed seismic sensor arrays along border zones to detect the vibration signatures of active tunnel construction and movement of personnel and cargo through existing tunnels.

Ground-Penetrating Radar

Deploying ground-penetrating radar systems to map subsurface voids and tunnel structures, providing precise location data for interdiction operations.

Interdiction Coordination

Coordinating with border security and law enforcement agencies to execute tunnel interdiction operations, sealing discovered tunnels and prosecuting operators.
