Digital Harassment & Abuse Intervention Algorithm Unit

Detecting and disrupting coordinated digital harassment and online abuse campaigns at scale.

Mission Statement

The Digital Harassment & Abuse Intervention Algorithm Unit develops and deploys algorithmic detection systems to identify coordinated digital harassment campaigns, online abuse networks, and targeted intimidation operations. The unit works with platforms, law enforcement, and civil society organizations to disrupt harassment infrastructure, support victims, and build the technical and legal frameworks needed to hold perpetrators accountable for online abuse at scale.

Key Functions

Algorithmic Detection

Developing and deploying machine learning algorithms that detect coordinated harassment campaigns — identifying the behavioral signatures that distinguish organized abuse from organic negative sentiment.

Network Disruption

Mapping the infrastructure of harassment networks — accounts, coordination channels, amplification mechanisms — and coordinating with platforms and law enforcement to disrupt operations and remove perpetrators.

Victim Support

Providing direct support to targets of coordinated harassment — documenting abuse, preserving evidence, advising on protective measures, and connecting victims with legal resources for civil and criminal remedies.

Core Capabilities

Coordinated harassment detection algorithms
Abuse network mapping
Victim support and documentation
Platform coordination and takedown
Legal evidence packaging
Counter-harassment policy advisory
