Mission Statement
The Death Penalty & State-Sanctioned Execution Abolition Unit works toward the global abolition of capital punishment through legal advocacy, diplomatic engagement, and direct intervention in imminent execution cases. The unit monitors death row conditions, documents due process violations, provides legal support to condemned individuals, and builds the international pressure needed to secure stays of execution and advance moratorium and abolition legislation.

Intervening in imminent execution cases through emergency legal filings, diplomatic appeals, and international pressure campaigns — securing stays of execution for individuals facing capital punishment.
Due Process Documentation
Documenting due process violations in capital cases — inadequate legal representation, coerced confessions, racial and socioeconomic bias — building the evidentiary record for appeals and international advocacy.
Abolition Advocacy
Advancing death penalty abolition through diplomatic engagement, civil society coalition building, and legislative advisory — supporting moratorium resolutions and abolition legislation at national and international levels.
