Mission Statement
The Arms Control, Disarmament & Demining Advocacy Team advances international arms control frameworks and conducts demining operations that protect civilian populations from the long-term harm of explosive remnants of war. The unit combines treaty advocacy, mine action coordination, and explosive ordnance disposal to reduce the landmine and UXO burden in post-conflict communities — enabling safe return of displaced populations and restoration of agricultural land.

Treaty Advocacy
Advancing international arms control frameworks — the Ottawa Treaty, Convention on Cluster Munitions, and Arms Trade Treaty — through diplomatic engagement, civil society coordination, and compliance monitoring.
Mine Action Coordination
Coordinating mine action programs that survey, mark, and clear landmine and UXO contamination in post-conflict areas, prioritizing land release that enables safe return of displaced populations.
Mine Risk Education
Delivering mine risk education programs to communities living with explosive contamination, reducing civilian casualties through behavioral change while clearance operations progress.
