Global Criminal Justice & War Crimes Prosecution Task Force
Advancing international criminal justice and war crimes prosecution to end impunity for atrocity crimes.
Unit Mission
The Global Criminal Justice & War Crimes Prosecution Task Force advances international criminal justice by supporting the investigation and prosecution of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide — working to end the impunity that allows perpetrators of atrocity crimes to escape accountability. The task force engages with the International Criminal Court, ad hoc tribunals, and national prosecution authorities to support evidence collection, witness protection, and the legal frameworks needed for effective accountability.
Key Functions
Evidence Collection
Supporting war crimes evidence collection and documentation — developing methodologies for preserving evidence of atrocity crimes, training investigators, and building the evidentiary record needed for successful prosecution.
Prosecution Support
Supporting international criminal prosecution — engaging with ICC processes, providing legal analysis, and advising on the jurisdictional and procedural frameworks needed to bring perpetrators of atrocity crimes to justice.
Transitional Justice
Developing transitional justice frameworks for post-conflict societies — designing truth commissions, reparations programs, and institutional reform processes that address the legacy of atrocity crimes and build foundations for sustainable peace.
