Environmental Treaty Compliance & Verification Task Force

Monitoring environmental treaty compliance and developing verification mechanisms to strengthen international environmental accountability.

Unit Mission

The Environmental Treaty Compliance & Verification Task Force monitors state compliance with international environmental treaties and develops verification mechanisms that strengthen accountability for environmental commitments. The task force applies international environmental law, remote sensing, and compliance analysis to assess adherence to climate, biodiversity, and pollution control agreements — identifying compliance gaps, investigating violations, and advocating for the enforcement measures and treaty strengthening needed to close accountability deficits.

Violation Investigation

Investigating environmental treaty violations — developing evidence of non-compliance, engaging with treaty bodies, and advocating for the enforcement responses needed to maintain the credibility of international environmental agreements.

Verification Design

Developing environmental treaty verification mechanisms — designing monitoring systems, reporting frameworks, and independent review processes that provide credible assurance of compliance with environmental commitments.
