Unit Mission

The Mechanical Engineering & Heavy-Extraction Machinery Lab engineers heavy extraction machinery and mechanical systems for disaster rescue and infrastructure recovery — designing and deploying specialized equipment for structural collapse rescue, debris removal, and infrastructure recovery in the most challenging disaster environments. The laboratory applies mechanical engineering, materials science, and robotics to develop the heavy machinery, extraction tools, and mechanical systems needed to conduct rescue operations and restore infrastructure after major disasters.
