Unit Mission
The Commercial Transit Sabotage Prevention & Continuity Unit protects commercial transit systems from sabotage and ensures operational continuity — assessing transit system vulnerabilities, designing protective measures, and developing the continuity plans needed to maintain transit operations under threat. The unit applies transportation security, sabotage prevention engineering, and business continuity to protect rail, aviation, maritime, and road transit systems from deliberate disruption and ensure that essential transportation services can continue under adverse conditions.
Key Functions
Vulnerability Assessment
Assessing transit system vulnerabilities to sabotage — evaluating physical security, cyber-physical interfaces, and operational procedures to identify the weaknesses that could be exploited to disrupt commercial transit operations.
Protective Engineering
Engineering sabotage prevention measures — designing physical barriers, detection systems, and hardening measures that protect transit infrastructure from deliberate attack and disruption.
Continuity Planning
Developing transit continuity plans — creating the operational procedures, backup systems, and recovery strategies needed to maintain essential transit services when primary systems are disrupted by sabotage or disaster.
