Research Mission
The Virology & Pathogen Kinetics Research Unit characterizes viral pathogens at the molecular and cellular level, models infection kinetics and transmission dynamics, and generates the mechanistic understanding needed to develop effective countermeasures. The unit investigates viral entry, replication, immune evasion, and evolution — providing the virological intelligence that informs vaccine design, antiviral development, and outbreak response strategy.

Pathogen Characterization
Characterizing viral pathogens at the molecular level — genome sequencing, protein structure analysis, receptor binding studies — to understand the biological basis of virulence, transmissibility, and immune evasion.
Kinetics Modeling
Developing mathematical models of infection kinetics and transmission dynamics that predict outbreak trajectories, evaluate intervention effectiveness, and inform public health response strategy.
Countermeasure Support
