Research Mission

The Synthetic Biology & Bio-Foundry Task Force applies the principles of engineering to biological systems — designing, building, and testing novel genetic circuits, metabolic pathways, and organisms with defined functions. The unit operates a bio-foundry platform that enables rapid design-build-test-learn cycles for synthetic biology applications ranging from biosensor development and biomanufacturing to therapeutic protein production and environmental remediation.
