Research Mission

The High-Performance & Exascale Supercomputing Operations Center operates and develops the supercomputing infrastructure that powers DARAS's most computationally demanding research programs — climate modeling, molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, fluid simulation, and large-scale data analytics. The center manages exascale computing resources, develops parallel algorithms and software frameworks, and provides the computational science expertise needed to extract maximum scientific value from high-performance computing investments.

Key Research Functions

HPC Operations

Operating and optimizing exascale supercomputing systems — managing job scheduling, storage systems, and network fabric to maximize utilization and throughput for DARAS research programs across all scientific domains.

Algorithm Development

Developing parallel algorithms and scientific software that scale efficiently to millions of processor cores — enabling DARAS researchers to tackle computational problems of unprecedented scale and complexity.

Research Enablement
