Research Mission
The Botany, Agronomy & Plant Pathology Team conducts research at the intersection of plant biology, agricultural science, and plant disease — advancing the scientific understanding needed to protect crop yields, develop disease-resistant varieties, and sustain food production under climate stress. The team investigates plant-pathogen interactions, develops integrated disease management strategies, and generates the agronomic knowledge that supports food security in vulnerable regions.

Plant Pathology Research
Investigating the molecular mechanisms of plant-pathogen interactions — characterizing pathogen virulence factors, plant defense responses, and the genetic basis of disease resistance.
Disease Management
Developing integrated pest and disease management strategies that protect crop yields while minimizing chemical inputs — combining biological control, resistant varieties, and cultural practices.
Food Security Support
Translating plant pathology and agronomy research into practical guidance for farmers and agricultural systems in food-insecure regions — building the crop protection capacity that sustains food production.
