Hazardous Environment Decontamination & Equipment Recovery Team
Decontaminating personnel and equipment after hazardous environment operations and recovering assets for reuse.
Unit Mission
The Hazardous Environment Decontamination & Equipment Recovery Team decontaminates personnel and equipment after hazardous environment operations and recovers assets for reuse — operating decontamination facilities, managing the decontamination of personnel exposed to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear hazards, and recovering and refurbishing equipment used in contaminated environments. The team ensures that personnel can safely return from hazardous operations and that expensive equipment is recovered and returned to service rather than abandoned.
